BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research has hired Alan Todd to lead the company's U.S. commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) research. In this role, Todd will be responsible for generating trade-specific research recommendations to external and internal clients in both cash and synthetics.
He will also focus on providing macro-level overviews and in-depth analysis of the U.S. CMBS and commercial real estate markets. Todd, who officially starts with the company in August, will report to Chris Flanagan, BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research's head of U.S. mortgages and structured finance research.
Todd is currently ranked No. 1 in the CMBS category of the Institutional Investor All-America Fixed Income Research team survey and has been among the top-ranked analysts for the past five years.
He joins the company from J.P. Morgan, where he was head of U.S. CMBS research since 2005.
